Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Milano-Bicocca and a member of the CRISP Research Centre. My research focuses on representation learning, embedding methods, explainable AI, and natural language processing. My academic background combines engineering, data science, and computer science. I obtained my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Industrial and Management Engineering, after which I moved towards the data domain by completing a Master’s degree in Big Data Analysis and a PhD in Computer Science. Before entering academia, I spent almost a decade working in industry, gaining experience in both small startups and multinational companies. In 2023, after completing my industrial PhD, I transitioned fully into academia and started my position as Assistant Professor at the University of Milano-Bicocca. I teach courses on Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Research Methods at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and I regularly contribute to PhD training in AI, machine learning, and data-driven research methodologies. I am actively involved in national and European research initiatives, including the Italian PNRR project Age-It, where I contribute to the design of digital research infrastructures, data platforms, and analytical pipelines. My work is developed in close collaboration with academic partners, national statistical institutes, and European organisations, and has been published in leading journals and conferences in AI and data science. If you are interested in research collaborations or thesis supervision, feel free to contact me at any time. I do my best to respond to emails within a few days.
